Heading home along the Gulf Coast

3/2   Gautier Mississippi  Shepard State Park

3/3   Gulf Shores Alabama         Buena Vista RV Resort

Carolyn won 3 nights at this resort at GEAR (motor home rally) last summer.  Surprisingly the place is under construction and we are the only people here.  Right across from the beach.  This is a very nice place.  Lots designed for a motor home with a small rock coach house are priced around $300K.  Very nice and very expensive.  Fortunately for us, our price is ZERO.

3/6   Gulf Breeze Florida    Fort Dickens National Seashore

The park is on an island and had been closed for 5 years due to damage from 2 hurricanes.  Only 1 of the 5 campground loops was open.  We attended the ranger led tour of the fort.   Sunny, upper 60s.  Beautiful day.  Drove around the area  Real resort town.  Found a few geocaches.  Visited the Live Oak branch of the Gulf Islands National Seashore where we watched a video on the area.  Walked along the beach.  Beautiful white sands.  Finally saw an armadillo.
